Overview

PoolBoi is a pool care assistant app. We collect minimal data — only what's needed to give you personalized pool care advice. We don't sell your data. This policy explains what we collect and why.

What we collect

  • -Account info: Email address and password for authentication. An optional display name you choose during setup.
  • -Pool details: Pool type, size, filter, and sanitizer — entered by you during setup so we can personalize advice.
  • -Water test readings: Chemistry values you log (pH, chlorine, alkalinity, etc.) so we can track your pool's health and give accurate recommendations.
  • -Location: City and state, collected voluntarily via GPS or manual entry. Used to determine pool season timing and provide local recommendations. You can skip this entirely.
  • -Chat messages: Conversations with the AI assistant are stored so you can continue them across sessions.

How we use it

Everything we collect is used to make PoolBoi work for you:

  • -Pool profile and readings are sent to OpenAI to generate personalized advice via the AI assistant.
  • -Location is used to schedule seasonal reminders and may be used for local pool store recommendations in the future.
  • -Product click data is tracked anonymously to improve recommendations.

Third-party services

  • -OpenAI — Powers the AI chat and test strip camera. Pool data is sent to generate responses. Their policy.
  • -Supabase — Stores account data and pool information with row-level security. Their policy.
  • -Amazon Associates — Product links include our affiliate tag. Amazon's privacy policy applies when you visit their site.

Data security

All data is stored in Supabase with row-level security — you can only access your own data. Passwords are hashed (never stored in plain text). All communication uses HTTPS. We do not sell your personal data.

Your rights

You can view and edit your data in the app at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, email support@poolboi.app. You can disable notifications in the app's Profile settings.

Children

PoolBoi is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated date.
